But Only In My Dreams: A Clexmas Carol

Pairings: Clex
Genre: Old-School, Fluff, maybe a little Crack
Rating: G
Word Count: 3236
Summary: When Lex's latest invention fails, both he and Clark learn something about Truth.
A/N: This will betray how long it’s been since I paid any attention to my own writing. I was 98% done with this story before I realized that I’d already done “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” in my Clexmas Carols of years past. All I can say in my own defense is that this is rather different than my first crack at it - and it may betray a shift in my mindset as well. I used to take a certain degree of pleasure in an unhappy ending, and I have to admit that this almost had one. But something came over me and … who knows. Maybe it’s the season, or maybe I am more hopeful nowadays.

My son watches entirely too much Phineas & Ferb. Doctor Doofenshmirtz is hilarious and delightfully derivative, and so despite my exhaustion with show’s other characters I have to thank Heinz and his -inators for keeping Lex in my life to some degree.

Here’s hoping there is snow and mistletoe and presents on all your trees … and that many Christmases to come will still find me here, checking in with Clark and Lex even if it’s just this one time of year.

Happy Merry Jingly,
~NNTO

It was Christmas at Kent Farm, and Lex was welcome.Collapse )

well then.

Huh. Hello there, little SV fandom slashjournal that I haven't updated in over a year.

What to say? The world went boom. I had my own private meteor shower, you could call it. Life, when reassembled, took me in other directions. (For instance, I no longer change diapers - he's done, thank God - and I did finally manage to quit smoking.)

I got custody of the Smallville DVDs. Which is to say I took them without asking because, as Lexy as ever, I take what I believe I am entitled to and consequences be damned. They sit on a shelf directly to the right of my television and I occasionally say, "We should watch Smallville."

My new Him, who looks more like Clark than any Lex fanatic ever could have dreamed (or deserved), always answers, "Anytime."

Maybe. Maybe.

In the meantime ... there is one WIP still sitting in my Google Docs. Still sometimes tugging on my imagination.

Maybe. We'll see.

But today, what brought me back was less halfhearted maybes than wholehearted gratitude. Somebody thought me worthy of an sv_fca nomination. I am beyond touched.

The category is "best medium length - slash" and the story is Carol.

This was always one of my proudest works - so to my unknown friend, thank you.

To all of you, fandom in general - I miss you.

Stay slashy,
NNTO

I'll Be Home For Christmas: A Clexmas Carol

Pairings: Clex
Genre: Angst, Post-Rift, Futurefic
Rating: PG
Word Count: 998
Summary: A Christmas homecoming - of sorts.
A/N: The last of my Clexmas Carols for this year. Sorry to go out on this note, but, well, you know me. This Christmas song always leaves me with an ache in my heart - and so does the Clex, so it seems fitting.

Oh, how he had hoped ...Collapse )

Summary: What a laugh it would have been if daddy had only seen ...

You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch: A Clexmas Carol

Pairing: Clex
Genre: PWP
Rating: Soft R
Word Count: 504
Summary: Given the choice between the two of them, I'd take ... hmm :)
A/N: Hello fandom. Merry Christmas.

It's been a terrible year in NNTO-world and I have missed writing so, so much - and Christmas was such an amazing Clexy time for me last year. So the idea of making a reappearance (however brief) for a few more Clexmas Carols was just too good to pass up.

Here is the first of this year's offerings. You'll have to forgive me if this one is a bit of a stretch - I'm afraid I got all the way through it before even realizing there's not even a passing nod to Christmas anywhere. (Oh well. Holiday spirit isn't exactly what I'm after here :) ) It helps if you know the song (oh the deliciously evil Thurl Ravencroft), but you don't have to.

Pairing: Clex
Genre: Established Relationship, touch of RWR/ Futurefic
Rating: R
Word Count: 1211

A/N: a birthday present for the wonderful twinsarein. Your stories are my guilty pleasures, my dear, and your feedback and support as a fellow writer are invaluable; but your worth as a friend is the true treasure :) I'm glad fandom has given us a chance to get to know each other.

Remember to drop by twins' journal tomorrow and wish her a happy one!

the way to her heart

... is definitely through chocolates :) Thank you, patrese1!

Edit to add: aww, and now someone's bear-hugged me. Whoever you are, darling, thank you; today in my real world was sort of shit, but in fandom it's all smiles.

Cover

Pairing: Clex
Genre: Romance, Humor
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: Lex hides in plain sight.
A/N: this started as an idea for the clexmas True Love Fest prompt: $, but I didn't get around to actually writing it until this morning. Oh well, better late than never!

Hope your Valentine's Day was sugar-sweet.

He was infinitely grateful Clark had chosen the S as his symbol.Collapse )
